Launched in 1998, the Vision of the Seas is the final addition to Royal Caribbean’s Vision-class fleet. Weighing in at 78,491 tons and accommodating 2,000 guests, it is slightly smaller than the groundbreaking Voyager of the Seas, which was launched just a year later. However, in comparison to Royal’s enormous Oasis and Allure of the Seas, the Vision of the Seas is nearly three times smaller. Despite its size, the Vision of the Seas possesses a certain charm and coziness that is often associated with midsize ships. Everything is conveniently located nearby, creating a sense of convenience. Nonetheless, the Vision of the Seas and its sister ships in the Vision-class fleet do have a slightly outdated feel to them.
Public places
Deck 5 and Deck 6 are where you’ll find most of the public rooms. These rooms extend from a central seven-story atrium that is filled with artificial palm trees and glass elevators. On Deck 4, the Champagne Bar can be found at the base of the atrium. This bar not only serves its namesake bubbly, but also provides musical entertainment. Moving up to Deck 5, you’ll discover the Masquerade Theatre and the bustling Casino Royale. As you make your way to Deck 6, you’ll find the nautical-themed Schooner Bar, which offers piano entertainment and a relaxing atmosphere.
Other options on Deck 6 include the Showboat sea view lounge, the Some Enchanted Evening lounge, where you can enjoy live music, dancing, and entertainment, and six different shops. On Deck 11, the Viking Crown Lounge is an observation lounge during the day and transforms into a disco at night.
If you’re traveling with kids, Deck 10 is the place to be. The Adventure Ocean playroom is fully stocked with toys and games, providing endless fun for children. Additionally, there is a teen center and video arcade located right next door.
For those seeking relaxation and recreation, Deck 9 offers a variety of options. You can take a dip or relax in the spacious main pool area. If you prefer a more serene environment, the Solarium is the perfect spot with its retractable glass ceiling and ancient design elements. Just behind the pool area, you’ll find the spa and fitness center. Here, you can indulge in a range of treatments, as well as enjoy steam rooms and saunas. The facility also includes small aerobics and workout rooms to help you stay active during your cruise.
A wall designed for rock climbing and a track for jogging are both available.
Dining areas
Vision offers a modest selection of dining options. When it comes to dinner, guests can indulge in the exquisite Aquarius Dining Room, adorned with an impressive staircase and captivating chandelier. Alternatively, the Windjammer Cafe buffet restaurant, situated at the front of the ship, presents another appealing choice for meals.
Vision of the seas - Staterooms
The Vision-class ships’ staterooms, after fifteen years of service, are compact and well-worn. The standard outside staterooms, measuring a mere 152 square feet, are equipped with a television, a small sitting area, a vanity, and a compact bathroom. If you desire a private balcony, you must upgrade to the Superior Oceanview stateroom, which offers 191 square feet of space, along with a minibar, a small sitting area, and ample storage.
The pinnacle of luxury is found in the Royal Suites, spanning an impressive 1,177 square feet. These lavish accommodations feature a separate living room and bedroom, a spacious marble bathroom complete with a whirlpool tub, a baby grand piano, and a private veranda measuring 138 square feet.
