Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras, a member of the Excel Class fleet, is slated for a European drydock renovation in 2025, giving passengers a unique opportunity for transatlantic voyages.
The Excel Class fleet, featuring the Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee, consists of the largest vessels in Carnival’s lineup and generally sails from the US.
In 2025, European travelers can embark on a one-way cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida, to Barcelona, Spain, or vice versa, eliminating the need for round-trip transatlantic flights. These 14-night transatlantic cruises will include multiple ports of call, such as Celebration Key, Carnival’s latest private island destination.
Although specifics of the drydock renovation are yet to be revealed, it is anticipated to involve routine maintenance and class inspections rather than extensive upgrades.
The eastbound crossing is scheduled for mid-September 2025, with the return journey set for a month later. After returning to Port Canaveral, the Mardi Gras will continue its regular Caribbean itineraries.
