Celebrity Cruises has decided to reschedule the drydock of its Celebrity Apex ship that was originally planned for 2024. The company aims to provide safe and award-winning vacation experiences to its guests, and in accordance with global safety guidelines, the drydock or routine inspection will now take place in 2025. As a result, several sailings that were scheduled to embark on specific dates between November 2024 and April 2025 have been canceled.
The affected guests will receive a full refund of their payments, including pre-booked shore excursions, onboard packages, and hotel reservations made through Flights by Celebrity.
In April 2020, Celebrity Cruises received their second Edge Class vessel, the Celebrity Apex. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ship was put in lay-up for several months. Finally, in June 2021, the ship was able to commence its summer cruises in the Eastern Mediterranean. In the winter of 2024-2025, the ship is expected to introduce fresh itineraries in the Caribbean, departing from its homeport in Fort Lauderdale and catering to up to 2,900 guests.
The Celebrity Apex is currently situated in the North East Atlantic Ocean, and is undertaking a 12-day cruise that starts in Amsterdam and ends in Rotterdam.
