Anchoring in a picturesque bay near Teahupo’o, a charming village just outside the capital of French Polynesia, this accommodation option promises to take the Olympic experience to new heights.
This unique accommodation provides convenient access to all Olympic venues.
The ship will serve as the official residence for sports teams and officials. Aranui 5, operated by Aranui Cruises, will host surfers and their teams, as well as delegates attending the games. Due to repairs not being completed on time, a local hotel that had been considered as a possible residence for participants had to be ruled out. The Aranui 5, which replaced the Aranui 3 in 2015, was chosen as the only available accommodation within 45 minutes of the competition site, meeting Paris 2024 requirements.
The ship features 103 cabins, including suites and superior deluxe staterooms, and has public areas such as a reception area, casual restaurant, four bars, dance room, conference rooms, lounges, and a library. A total of 48 surfers from 20 countries are expected to participate in the competition, which will take place from July 27 to July 30, 2024.
In the facility, there is a room dedicated to videos and computer usage, a small shop, a swimming pool located outside equipped with a whirlpool, a gym area, and a room specifically for massages.
The Aranui 5 is a ship that has been specifically designed to serve two purposes: transportation of both passengers and freight.
