The recent incident involving a 64-year-old Indian woman falling from the Spectrum of the Seas RCCL cruise has garnered significant attention and concern. The woman was on a cruise with her husband when he woke up in the middle of the night to discover that his wife was not in their cabin. Alarmed by her disappearance, he immediately reported it to the crew members, triggering an extensive search operation.
Multiple agencies are involved in the search efforts, diligently working to locate the missing woman. However, as of now, there is no news regarding her whereabouts. According to her son, he was informed by the crew that his mother had jumped off the ship, but he claims that there has been a lack of transparency in this matter.
One of the key concerns raised is the absence of surveillance footage and a perceived lack of effort in carrying out a rescue operation to locate the missing woman. Additionally, it is troubling that even the father was reportedly off-boarded without any clear explanation or communication, additionally because the ship had to board new passengers. Her son added that she might be still somewhere stuck on the ship.
Her husband was interviewed as well by authorities. The Sahani family is being regularly communicated with by the Indian High Commission. We are also keeping in touch with Singaporean officials to handle any associated matters and are assisting with legal procedures, they said.
